PeAn 10
R: Sight, D: Momentary, T: Individual
By use of this spell the wizard can cause minor pain to an animal (the equivalent to having an ear bitten or a nip to the flank). This provides the animal with a clear signal (for instance when training it to understand undesired behaviour), and it may yelp in surprise, but leaves no lasting damage other than a small mark on the animal's body.
Avicia notes in this spell description:
“Wolves usually treat other members of the pack with gentleness, but I have noticed that the leader of a wolf pack occasionally has to exert their dominance. This is done by exerting a small amount of physical pain. A nip to the ear, or the flank is usually enough to remind a lower member of the pack who is in charge. Generally, this is sufficient when a spell like ‘Agony of the Beast’ would be unnecessarily harsh treatment.”

PeAn Level 15
R: Touch, D: Mom, T: Room
This spell causes all insects and creatures up to the size of a mouse to be killed within the area of effect.
Ferdinandus of Jerbiton developed this spell after being forced to spend the night in a flea infested bedroom of an Inn. After a very uncomfortable night, he vowed to never have to suffer such indignity again.
(Base 4, +2 Voice, +1 Part)
PeAn Level 15
R: Voice, D: Momentary, T: Part
This incantation destorys the straps and leather underpinnings holding many of the things man uses together. Thus metal armor falls to pieces, a backpack disintergrates, and a large part of a saddle comes undone.
(Base 30, +1 touch, +2 room, size restriction -6)
PeAn 20
R: Touch, D: Momentary, T: Group (+2 size)
This spell shaves the fur from a heard of animals leaving a short stubble of hair as if the animal had been shorn by hand.
(Base 3, +1 range, +2 target, +2 size)
PeAn20
R: Voice, D: Momentary, T: Individual
You gesture at the target beast and make a jerking motion with your hand, pantomiming as if you were grasping at the animal’s vital organs and ripping them out. The effects are not s gruesome as that, but does inflict a Medium wound upon the target beast.
(B:10, R: Voice +2, D: Momentary, T: Individual)
PeAn 30
R: Voice, D: Momentary, T: Individual
The targeted animal becomes infected with rabies. Each time a rabid animal causes a wound a Stamina check is needed to avoid being infected as follows: Light wounds 3+, Medium wound 9+, Heavy Wound +15. After a day, the target animal will suffer an incapaciting wound and will likely die. Rabid animals can not be controlled with magic.
(Base 20, Voice +2, Momentary, Individual)
PeAn 45
R: Sight, D: Momentary, T: Individual
The targeted creature disappears from existence, becoming immaterial and fading into nothingness in mere seconds.
(Base 30, +3 Sight)
PeAn 85 Ritual
R: Sight, D: Momentary, T: Boundary
This spell kills every animal within the targeted boundary, which can be up to 3 miles in diameter.
This spell was invented by Apromor filius Flambeau as part of a wizard’s war with a Bjornaer wizard. He cast it while flying above the forests of Russia. Several forests in Russia’s northern reaches were decimated in this war (fortunately, they did not contain many animals to begin with). Ironically, his opponent survived.
(Base 30, +3 Sight, +4 Boundary, +4 size)
