Using a knife or other cutting implement, the Maga makes a cutting motion in the air. The spell causes the fog immediately around the Maga to reduce in intensity by one level, allowing the Maga a better chance to see nearby companions or search the ground in an impenetrable fog. The fog may naturally return within an hour or so.
Aeneas of Guernicus developed this spell after a wasted night investigating a local graveyard. The fog was so thick that she could barely make out her companions, let alone survey the graves to see which had been tampered with. She determined to develop a spell to allow her and her companions a better chance of searching such places in future.
(Base: 4, R: Touch +1, D: Momentary, T: Group +2)
PeAu Level 15
R: Touch, D: Momentary, T: Structure
The air in the target structure becomes stale and bereft of salubrious properties. The air has a foul smell and any creatures that breathe this air suffer a -3 penalty on any die rolls involving physical exertion. In addition, for each round of physical activity a creature within the building must make a stamina roll of 6+ or loose a fatigue level. The speed with which the air within a structure replenishes itself is dependant upon the structure

The target of this spell begins to suffocate as air passing their lips is continuously destroyed over the duration of this spell (See section on Deprivation on p180).
The origin of the name for this spell is a mythical Old Hag who is said to steal into a victim’s room while they sleep and draw the breath from them so that they feel they are suffocating. Phillida heard the story while she was travelling in Loch Leglean and was inspired to try to mimic their effects on wakeful victims.

PeAu 85 Ritual
R: Sight, D: Year, T: Group
This spell renders the air for miles around the caster still (24300 paces in diameter). No wind, rainfall, or any other weather phenomenon will occur within the designated area.
The spell can be broken by any Auram or Perdo Vim ritual of higher level. Weaker or non-Ritual spells cannot overcome it.
(Base 15, +3 Sight, +4 Year, +2 Group, +5 size)
